Curriculum Night Presentation

Communication:

We will use Seesaw (a private Facebook like blog for students and families) and Synergy (Beaverton School District email) for the bulk of my parent communications. The classroom website will be a source of policy information and curriculum links, and will only be update as needed. If you have questions you can contact me at: lisa_crnich@beaverton.k12.or.us

Homework:

Students are expected to read up to 30 minutes per night, and note minutes read on a reading log (to help track and build their reading stamina). They should read books they enjoy at their reading level. Please do not ask your child to read material beyond his/her level. Research shows that reading text that is readily comprehensible is the best way to increase reading skills. Math homework will likely be a story problem a night (on paper) with the option of online practice through school sponsored math applications.

Snack:
Each day the kids will have a chance to eat a snack mid-morning. Please send healthy snacks such as fruit or crackers, and please no candy, cookies or chips. We have several students with nut allergies, so please do not send any snacks that include peanuts or tree nuts.

Handouts from school will come home on Fridays, unless they're time sensitive.

If you need to leave an urgent message, please call the school as I only check email at lunch and before or after school. The office will take a message, or can forward you to my voice mail. 503-356-2480

Thanks,
Mrs. Crnich (pronounced Sir-nitch)
